A Journey of Clues

with Mr. Moto

In 1853, President Fillmore commissioned the crew of the USS Susquehanna to embark on a yearlong journey to the East. Their mission was to reach the shores of Japan and open the country to American trade. Mr. Moto, a gourmand and art connoisseur, traveled alongside the crew of the USS Susquehanna. Throughout Mr. Moto’s voyage, he documented his most profound discoveries, including the treasure of Japanese gastronomy. We invite you to enter into The Office of Mr. Moto and experience his most prized discovery, Edo-mae sushi.

Mr. Moto was a man of privacy. At his office, guests are forbidden from photography of other guests. Similarly, he was also a man of mystery. He hid many of his discoveries in various clues to protect the secrets and origins.
